1977 Topps Carl Morton 24- Braves Card of the Day ⚾

Charlie Morton was stumbling along in his career until he made it to Houston. After working with the Astros organization to improve his spin rate, Morton became a truly productive pitcher.

Oops, wrong Morton.

Carl Morton won the Rookie of the Year award with the Expos in 1970. His career would be up and down in Montreal so they dealt him to the Braves where he would generate 15 wins in WAR, but the more traditional stats had him declining sharply after the first year. By the time this card was available, he had been dealt to the Rangers and would kick around the minors for a few years before retiring.
