1982 Topps Glenn Hubbard 482 - Braves Card of the Day ⚾

I have two very short Glenn Hubbard stories for you.

First, I used to travel a lot for work. Inevitably, people at the site where I was working would find out I was a huge Braves fan. Because of the reach of TBS, I guess I should not have been shocked, but it always amazed me when people had more familiarity with the Braves teams of the 80s than with the team that was in the midst of a 15 season division title streak. Three names inevitably came up from everyone who would mention the 1980s Braves to me. Dale Murphy and Bob Horner were the easy ones. The other was Glenn Hubbard. Maybe the beard made him memorable?

Second, not long after my family moved from Memphis, TN to Columbus, GA in the early 80s, I went with my Mom to the mall. There was a long line outside the local sporting goods store. Curious to what was going on, I ran to the front of the line and saw that familiar beard behind a table signing pictures. So, I got in line and got my first ever pro baseball player autograph.
